EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE EDUCATION & ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM
General objectives of
the Dip. E.C.C.Ed&A. Course for Teachers Education are :
1. To provide theoretical knowledge and understanding of principles of early
childhood education, based on child development.
2. To enable student teachers to acquire the attitudes, skills, insights and
techniques necessary to be able to
a) Work with children of ages 1 year to 6 years, using play way, and activity
methods.
b) Organise, plan and administer the pre school, Programmes.
c) Work effectively with parents and community.
3. To provide a basic knowledge and understanding for teaching and working
within the framework of Indian conditions and to adapt to local needs, situations
and resources.
4. To provide information on developing and planning schools
5. exposure to international educational approaches
A candidate for the Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education (Dip.
E.C.C.Ed&A.) Must have passed XIIth Std. Of Maharashtra State Board of
Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent, and in addition must have subsequent
to his passing the XIIth Std. Examination.
2. Completed a course of practical work extending over
two terms to the satisfaction of the Head of Institution , consisting of :
a. Attendance at Demonstration / Discussion lessons
b. Observation of Teaching as directed.
c. Teaching practice of not less than 10 lessons distributed over K.G., of
a recognized school selected by the Head of the Institution as practicing
school.
d. Internship
e. Participation / Organization of co-curricular activities
f. Case Studies
g. Workshops / Seminars / Visits
The examination for the Dip.
E.C.C.Ed&A.shall have the following papers:

Paper II – Child Development
Paper III – Methods and materials
Paper IV – Organization of Pre-School Activities
Paper V- different early childhood approaches, curriculum planning and implementation
Paper VI- designing for children
THE DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAM
The Distance learning program is a 1 year program which is conducted through the internet.
General objectives of the Diploma. E.C.C.E. Course for Teachers Education are:
1. To provide theoretical knowledge and understanding of principles of early childhood education, bases on child development.
2. To enable student teachers to acquire the attitudes, skills, insights and techniques necessary to be able to
a) Work with children of nursery, kindergarten classes,
using play way and activity methods.
b) Organize, plan and administer the pre school Programs.

3. To provide a basic knowledge and understanding for teaching and working within the framework of Indian conditions and to adapt to local needs, situations and resources.
4. To provide information on organization of Day – Care Center.
